With 33+ years of experience as a proofreader/copyeditor, senior editor, editor, and medical writer, Dory can do it all. When she worked as a copyeditor/proofreader, her publisher told her that she had the “best eyes in the business.” When she served as a senior editor, an art director called her a “walking thesaurus.” Dory doesn’t work in isolation when she edits manuscripts; she actively engages our authors and, in essence, serves as coach and mentor to them. Many authors have raved about their experience working with Dory and have recommended that their colleagues submit manuscripts to Women’s Healthcare so that they can benefit from her expertise as well. For budding authors who want to learn even more, Dory and editor-in-chief Beth Kelsey teach a course on writing for professional publications at the annual NPWH conferences.
Editing and writing manuscripts bring great satisfaction and joy, but Dory also cherishes working with her colleagues as a member of Team NPWH and Team HCM. If you want a project done with efficiency, enthusiasm, and excellence, just ask Dory to lead it.
